Hotel Casa Marron

The views make the stay worthwhile, even though the location isn’t the best. Uber does a good job making up for the limited transport. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient, and the room was very comfortable and nice. Breakfast was delicious, and the common areas were stunning. I’d definitely come back.

Guests on the first floor may hear noise from upstairs.

The room was clean and comfortable, though a little small and pretty standard. We paid $100, which felt like twice what it should have cost. A large dog in the neighbor’s yard barked outside our window until at least nightfall, and the walls are so thin that the guest next door had the TV on all night. I could only sleep with earplugs, so it wasn’t quiet or romantic for me. The receptionist was the main redeeming part. She was very friendly and helped us despite the language barrier. In the morning, she made fresh scrambled eggs to go with the cold cuts and fruit. Otherwise, I’d give it two or three stars.

The location is out of the way, which does make the hotel peaceful and relaxing. Our room was spotless, but noise from other rooms carries quite a bit. The shower was fine at night, though in the morning the water wasn’t very hot, probably because other people were showering. Breakfast is basic, and it would help if things like milk and salt were easier to get. The eggs brought to the table were good, but there was no salt, and we didn’t want to ask for more. Paola was very friendly, though the woman on the morning shift was difficult to approach and deal with.
