We stayed for our anniversary, and it’s a really nice place with wonderful views. There’s a bar at the pool. The heated pool could use some lighting or maintenance, though, because it feels a bit creepy, haha. It rained, so we couldn’t take the funicular down and had to pay 6,000 pesos for an Uber to the beach. Then the power went out.

The service is very good, and it’s an easy 20-minute walk to downtown Reñaca. The building is 20 years old and feels a bit behind on maintenance, especially the heated pool. Your experience depends on the apartment you rent as well as the amenities and quality the owner provides.

The funicular is in poor condition and keeps breaking down. People get stuck, and getting down to the beach feels like a matter of luck.

The one good thing is the nice view. This past weekend I visited a friend in these apartments, and when I parked in the visitor spot, the concierge said I could only stay until 1:00 AM. After that, I’d have to move my car to the street. Car theft is rampant in the area, so leaving it outside wasn’t an option. He said I could keep it there if an owner rented me a space for the night, and that he had a contact. I ended up paying $15,000 to use parking in private apartments, even though it was the off-season and there was parking everywhere. Taking advantage of the crime situation to charge for parking in a private apartment building says a lot about how run-down these apartments are. It felt like they were trying to squeeze money out of me.
