The staff were helpful, professional, and friendly. Camila, who helped us behind the counter, was so friendly that we extended our stay beyond what we’d originally planned. Valet parking was very quick, and the breakfast was very good. It’s a great hotel in the middle of Viña Del Mar, right by the beach and lovely walking paths. We’d stay here again. Louis

Service was great, and valet parking was available. Our room was clean and had a nice sea view, though without a patio I’m not sure the view was worth it when I could go upstairs to see it. The pool deck on the 8th floor has a beautiful view. You can hear some traffic, though I think that’s true of any hotel along here. It looks nicer than most hotels around here. The beach is two minutes away, Valparaiso’s main square is an 18-minute drive, and Santiago is an hour and a half away. Viña Del Mar seems nicer than Valparaiso.

The location was good and the staff were nice. Breakfast had a wide variety, although the pastries I tried on two mornings were dry and didn’t seem fresh. We thought we’d use the rooftop pool, but went to check it first. It’s quite small, and the rooftop bar visitors would be almost on top of you, with no privacy or extra space. For the price, the hotel didn’t feel like more than a 3-star place by western European standards, and it was missing basic things: our room had no hair dryer, the lotion bottle by the sink was empty and still hadn’t been refilled the next day, there was no toilet brush, and there was only one bathrobe for the two of us if we both wanted to go to the rooftop swimming pool. It was okayish for us because we booked in advance and got a big Black Friday discount, but we wouldn’t choose it next time we’re in town.

The location is the big draw, with restaurants, bakeries, shops, beaches, and parks all within walking distance. The renovation looks tasteful, and the front desk and cleaning staff were really nice and helpful. But the plumbing was a serious problem. The shower floor slopes the wrong way, so I had to keep showers short to stop water running into the hallway. The toilet kept running or would flush on its own in the middle of the night, and the shower sometimes switched on by itself and leaked loudly. At night, sewage smells also came up from the sink drain. It was unsettling. Service elsewhere was all over the place, from excellent to almost comically bad. The upstairs bar was especially chaotic: servers came to the table without knowing what anyone had ordered, or ignored me completely. They ask guests to reuse towels, but there aren't enough hangers to dry them properly. We also had no hand towels on arrival; those came the next morning. By US standards, the problems don't fit the hotel's star rating. The area can be noisy, but the location is hard to beat. If they overhaul the plumbing, this could be a truly excellent place to stay in Viña del Mar.
