Marhaba Hotel

All the noise from outside kept me awake until 3 am, even though the room itself was great.

It’s right in Ngaoundere city center, about a 7 min drive from the airport, a 20 min walk to Mount Ngaoundere, and opposite a police station. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and my room was clean, though the water pressure could’ve been better. The local and European food was cheap and delicious. It’s certainly no luxury palace, but you get good value for your money.

There’s a restaurant, bar, and parking area, and the room had air conditioning and a refrigerator. But for 58usd or 35,000xof, it felt like a rip-off. The room was basic and no better than the standard one at 25,000xof. There wasn’t a towel, so we had to get one from another room. They only take cash.

I had a very nice short stay. The room was neat and pleasant, the staff were really nice, and I enjoyed the food at the beautiful restaurant, which was relatively affordable. There’s free Wi-Fi, though only a few TV channels. It’s opposite a police station, which is interesting for security, and there’s a large, secure parking area. Shops, convenience services, and entertainment spots are nearby. The area can get noisy late at night, for example from marhaba cabaret close to the hotel.
