The hotel’s more like a four-star place, but I had a nice stay. It’s in a good spot, less than a 10 minute walk from the tube station. The rooms are comfortable, the staff attentive, and breakfast has a good range. Seating is limited, though sharing a table is fine. There are a few restaurants inside, as well as a cafe with pastries.

The view from the upper floors is amazing, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is mostly Chinese, but I found it really tasty. It’s also about 17 minutes by taxi to the Beijing Forbidden City. A beautiful, comfortable hotel near Beijing Opera House.

Sanlitun is the big draw here: shops, restaurants, and clubs are all an easy walk away. I paid only 100 EUR, so it felt like good value for a stay in such a fancy area. The hotel itself is okay, maybe four stars by Western standards, and breakfast is basic but does include some continental choices. A decent pick if you’re watching your budget.

The location near the Sanlitun shopping center is handy, with branded boutiques, luxury restaurants, and coffee shops on the surrounding streets. Asia Hotel is a large, old-fashioned place with a grand feel. The rooms and beds are spacious, and the in-room facilities made it comfortable to spend time there. It has a full range of facilities, including business centers, restaurants, cafeterias, a pool, fitness facilities, free Wi-Fi, and ample parking. It’s also convenient for older guests and wheelchair users, and there are play areas for children. Seems well suited to a family weekend. If you enjoy being in a big, modern city, I’d suggest staying here.

I was put in a smoking room at first, which made me furious. They moved me to another floor. The fine for smoking in China seemed too low.
