Shuoguochao Hotel (Beijing Daxing Huangcun West Street Subway Station)

I was comfortable staying here overall. The hotel is quite large, more than 50 metres long, though its entrance is small and there’s just a little convenience store nearby, so it doesn’t look like a big hotel at first. It’s not close to central Beijing, and in the cold weather there wasn’t anywhere to walk around when we got back late. The rooms are attractive and varied rather than all the same. In some, the toilet is far from the bed, which could be inconvenient for older guests. The room facilities were good, but I couldn’t get used to the central air conditioning controls for heating and kept mixing them up. The dining room is small and crowded at breakfast, with little privacy, though it was manageable. The laundry room is on the second floor. The emergency exit stays locked all day, perhaps for security, but that would be dangerous in a fire. There’s also a robot that moves around and uses the elevator, though I couldn’t tell what its main job was.
