Sunworld Hotel Beijing Wangfujing

We stayed for four nights and had a great experience. The staff were polite and helpful, the room was clean and a good size, and we got four bottles of water each day. There were plenty of breakfast choices. When a very noisy family moved into the room across the hall halfway through our stay, the staff were happy to move us. Wangfujing walking street is only a two-minute walk away, with a beautiful mix of modern and original. The water pressure was strong and there was plenty of hot water. Everything was positive.

The WiFi simply doesn’t work, so you’ll need an eSIM or another way to get online. The location is lively and convenient, around a 2-3 minute walk to the nearest subway and the pedestrian street, where there are lots of restaurants, shops, people dancing and playing music, and weekend hackysack. Staff were kind and helped us change larger bills into smaller ones for street food, souvenirs, and taxis, since cash and change aren’t commonly used in much of China. Free self-service laundry in the basement was a big help after two weeks of travel, with two washers and dryers and detergent available. It was full when we first tried, so we had to return the next day. There was a good amount of drawer storage and hangers. We had a nice stay for the price and location.

Liu Gang on level 8 really went out of his way to make us comfortable. He brought memory foam pillows and amenities for the kids, and when it was cold and dry, arranged a humidifier and a portable heater since central heating wasn’t available yet. We really appreciated that. The deluxe room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was great. We stayed from 9 to 15 Nov. The one frustration was check-in, where a staff member was rather rude and seemed annoyed to be checking me in.

Many thanks to front desk manager Ms Lily Li for her attentive, impeccable service. She made our stay especially delightful. The rooms are good value, and the hotel is within walking distance of the nearest two train stations as well as Beijing’s main Wangfujing shopping belt.
