Super 8 Hotel Beijing Qianmen Hu Fang Road

The rooftop pool has stunning city views, and the hotel also has a spa, fitness center, restaurants, and bars. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed with the amenities you'd expect from a luxury hotel. It's a beautiful building with a modern design, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Service was excellent. It's in Beijing's historic Qianmen district, within walking distance of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. Hufangqiao metro station is nearby, which makes it easy to explore more of Beijing. The main downside is the price. The Jianguo Hotel Qianmen-Beijing is a great luxury choice for business travelers and tourists alike, with a convenient location, lovely rooms, and excellent service. This review reflects my own experience and research, so yours may vary.

We came here to eat during our cruise ship excursion, and it felt like a hotel trying to bring in money any way it could. Everything looked tired and the food was barely mediocre. I wouldn't choose this place as a hotel. The staff looked worn out and didn't even try to interact. The restrooms had Western-style toilets and paper towels, which is about the only good thing I can say. The attendant handing me paper towels did it aggressively, which left a bad taste. That isn't normal under Chinese culture. This shouldn't be like Mexico :(

This is about the opera theater, not the hotel. It makes for a great cultural experience, though some preparation helps you appreciate it more. The actors' traditional high-pitched voices can be jarring if you aren't expecting them, and might still feel off-putting even when you are. I'd suggest learning the story beforehand so you can focus on the visuals during the show, which are the most interesting part.

Breakfast has lots of different choices each day, and both regular forks and chopsticks are available. The Wi-Fi is pretty slow and sometimes crashes. Rooms can get very hot, and the air conditioner doesn't seem to help at all, even after being set to 10°C for a few hours.
