If you're staying for the nearby UCAS area, go next door to the Qihu. I had a much better experience there in every respect. Without a reason to be in this location, I'd choose somewhere nearer central Beijing, which is 1-2 hours away depending on traffic. This place seems geared toward small regional conferences, likely connected to UCAS around the corner. It feels as if it was built to be a very nice hotel, but that effort has faded. Many amenities are closed, unattended, or neglected, and the workout room is pathetic. Breakfast has a wide range of Eastern food, though the Western choices are few and only middling. The rooms are very clean, and the janitorial staff are prompt and friendly. I can't say the same for the rest of the staff: hardly anyone speaks English, and often they seemed uninterested in trying to communicate. The English signs have plenty of typos and poor translations. For anything beyond average local food, you'll need to travel at least 25 minutes, and delivery takes forever.
