Mercure Chengdu Downtown

The breakfast restaurant can't fit the crowd, and the hotel really needs to address that. The restaurant staff were friendly, though. The location is good, with lots of places to eat within walking distance, and the reception staff were friendly too, especially Miss Yu Ting. If you need more information, I'm from rm 518.

The front desk was superb, and I was told my room had been upgraded. So far, so good. There’s an MRT right in front of the hotel to get around, and lots of food options nearby. You can't go wrong with this location.

We stayed at this Mercure for two nights. The bedsheets, bed and bathroom were clean, though the corridors and halls didn't seem as clean. There was a tobacco smell in the room even though it had a no-smoking sign. Apart from that, everything was great: the bed was comfortable and breakfast was splendid, with lots of everyday Chinese food at the open buffet. The hotel is near some sights, and Kuanzhai alley and Peoples park are easy to get to, though Tianfu Square isn't within walking distance. The listed hotel location is wrong. The correct code is M26X+VQ5, but I couldn't edit the address. On metro Line 2, get off at Tonghuimen station and use exit C, which brings you out right next to the hotel. On a Chinese map app, the name appears as "Chengdu Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley Zimeiju Hotel (Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley Subway Station Branch)". There's a pizza hut branch very close by. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff were very friendly, the location was wonderful, breakfast was included and good, and the shower was nice. There was no airport shuttle. I asked for one, and they kindly sent a taxi on Monday, April 8, 3019 at 5:30. When I checked the fare beforehand, the hotel said it would be about 60rmb. At the airport, the driver demanded 197rmb. I gave him 60, he argued, then said 93rmb, which I paid. I was taken advantage of by the cab driver. I suggest the hotel speak with taxis and explain that dishonest drivers affect their business.
