The location made it easy to get around, with Linjiangmen metro station nearby and attractions like the Liberation Monument, Shibati Houses, and Kuixing Building within walking distance. Luzu temple is right beside the hotel, in a neighborhood with specialty coffee shops, craft beer bars, a hipster feel, and western food such as Neapolitan pizza. We stayed over the Christmas holiday on a high floor, and the room was very quiet. There’s also a pool and jacuzzi. The Cantonese restaurant was a letdown for a five-star hotel.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the shopping square is only about a five-minute walk away. The location is hard to beat. Our room was clean and roomy, with a big comfortable bed, and breakfast had lots of good options. I really enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it.

The hotel feels a little dated and could use a refresh, though the staff were all friendly and helpful. Klaus Wang, the “At Your Service Manager,” was especially helpful, and he speaks English. We were disappointed by the all-day dining restaurant: the Hainan Chicken Rice wasn’t prepared as expected, and the chicken was dry and overcooked. The location is convenient, around a 10-minute walk from Jiefangbei and close to Hongya Cave and Elin Park, in an area where locals shop for fruit and vegetables. We had a good stay overall and would come back.

The location was ideal for seeing Chongqing’s main sights, and the service throughout our February 7-10 stay at JW Marriott Hotel Chongqing was outstanding. We were in room 2613. The front desk team was warm, professional, and efficient, and the room had a lovely view, excellent linens, and was kept spotless by the housekeeping lady. Breakfast was excellent too. The breakfast host and the gentleman at the omelette station were both attentive, friendly, and clearly cared about service. A stay that lived up to JW Marriott standards. Thanks for looking after us so well, highly recommended.

The tourist map the building gave us turned out to be surprisingly useful, and the staff were very nice. Still, the room was a disappointment: it smelled of smoke and was quite dirty. The building is clearly outdated, and for the price this wasn’t the hotel I’d hoped for.
