GreenTree Inn Liaoning Dalian Railway Station South Shengli Square Express Hotel

I picked this hotel over better-looking options at the same or lower prices because I thought the brand would mean stable Wi-Fi in my room. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and the room’s power outlets didn’t work, so I couldn’t work there. The room itself was old and run-down, and reception didn’t respond to my complaint with a proper attitude.

The rooms had a layout, decor, and amenities I was happy with, and they were reasonably priced during my off-season visit. The breakfast buffet was decent, and the staff were helpful and efficient. I also had a great experience at the front desk. Its central location worked well for both tourism and business, and having a Lawson beside the lobby was a big plus.

The rooms were clean, if a little small and old. Breakfast was a nightmare: at peak time there isn’t enough space for everyone. It took ages to find a clean table, there was no food, the silverware was sticky, and it was more crowded and noisy than I’ve ever seen in another hotel. The lifts were just as frustrating, with long waits because they were all full and badly programmed. I had to walk down from the 10th floor. I won’t come back.

The location on zhongshan square is central, with every happening place nearby. The rooms were large and clean, but there was nowhere to put luggage, which every hotel has. I also had a bad experience: while I was lying in my room, two staff members came in without permission. My clothes were on a chair, and they moved them aside, took the chair, and replaced it with a smaller one. I was stunned. It made me wonder if they could enter any room and do whatever they wanted.
