The rooms aren’t new, but they were clean and had what I needed, apart from a refrigerator. The staff were helpful and used translation apps on their phones to communicate, and the cleaners were warm and kind. Jiaotong University Station is only a five-minute walk away. There are plenty of tasty, inexpensive places to eat by the station, plus a local market open every night, so finding food is easy. There’s also a nearby place that sells Tsingtao by the glass, including some unusual varieties.

It’s an inexpensive place to stay, and my room was clean. There’s a shower but no bathtub, and the hot water worked well. They also replenished the soap and toothpaste. With the subway station close by, getting around is easy.
