The location is the main reason Sheraton Dongguan works so well for a stay in the area. The metro is easy to reach, and there are international pubs and restaurants nearby that suit travelers and expats. The hotel is comfortable and the service is great, with convenient, familiar options close by while exploring Dongguan.

I stayed here in 2019, when it was a great hotel. Back in 2025, with the city changing, it feels like the place could use a refresh to match the new atmosphere.

The lobby is grand and spacious, with a nice holiday feel, so Sheraton Hotel is a pretty good choice for a short stay. The rooms have some age to them, which you can see in the setup, but they’re still fine for a quick visit, haha. The outdoor pool runs from 630am to 10pm, which is such a long opening day. It’s not big, but it’s still good for a workout or a relaxing swim, morning or night. The fitness room is open 24 hours. It’s small, but good enough. Sheraton Hotel Dongguan Sheraton Hotel my rating: 4.4

There are lots of restaurant choices nearby, and the location is very good. For a trip to Hong Kong, you can catch a direct bus from the hotel.

The breakfast was okay, and the internet connection wasn’t bad. I had a VPN installed, so Google and Whatsapp worked on my phone. Still, I doubt I’d stay again unless they remodel the place. The whole hotel feels old, and my room hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was dust everywhere, including on the hard floor where a vacuum should have taken care of it. The bathroom smelled strangely of diesel, the same issue someone else had mentioned about room 3001 years ago. At the desk, there were no free outlets for my computer, so I had to unplug something else. The 32-inch TV felt like a joke for 2023. The SPA was closed, and the pool and gym changing room was a mess. It seems they’ve more or less given up on this hotel, and I hope it gets remodeled soon. It’s clearly past its best days.
