I stayed in room 1009, and the smell in there was terrible. The air quality might even have been dangerous. This hotel needs a lot of renovation and shouldn't be on the Bonvoy list. The breakfast was questionable too. The food and beverage team didn't even pour yogurt out of the bottle )))

The room they gave me was on a smoking floor, even though I'd requested non-smoking. They said it had been cleaned. The breakfast food was cold and there wasn't much choice. The website pictures are totally different from what you see in person. The air conditioner isn't maintained or cleaned regularly. Just look at how dirty the filter is. I wouldn't recommend it as a Marriott brand hotel.

The bathroom really needs improvement and a thorough clean. There was a bit of mold and mildew on the shower tiles. The room itself was spacious, with a nice view facing the garden. The location is okay if you're visiting the nearby industrial area, and there's a shopping mall within walking distance.

The location is quite far out. It took us an hour to reach Guangzhou/Tianhe. Still, our room on the 10th floor was so quiet we didn't need earplugs, and it was clean. Service was really good, the WiFi was strong, and they even vacuumed the carpet. Lots of little thoughtful things that many other hotels in China don't do. The reception staff spoke English, though speaking Mandarin helped at times. The room decor looked a bit like McDonald's in the early 2000s, but that was okay.
