Foshan Golden Hotel

A pleasant place to stay, with a nice atmosphere.

The location is good.

The staff were really helpful. People passing by would answer questions and even show me the way around and point out the hotel facilities. The room itself was clean, had complete facilities, and the air conditioning worked well. The TV signal kept cutting out every 20-30 seconds on check-in day. The front desk checked it and confirmed it was broken. They said replacing it meant disconnecting the cables, but the repairman had finished work, so they suggested I move rooms. I’d already unpacked some luggage and was only there for one night, so I stayed put rather than go through checking all my belongings again. For the pool, bring your own towel. It closes for cleaning on Mondays, though you can contact the hotel to confirm. The gym is beside the pool, has only about 4-5 tables, and no air conditioning. Breakfast was average. There was just one pot of hot coffee and no coffee machine, but it was filling.

Set amid greenery in Shunde, the hotel is well placed for public transport. The rooms are spacious and have the comforts you’d expect from a grand luxury hotel. There’s also a large pool on the third floor, with real palm trees around it. It’s very nice.
