Golden City

The service was quick, and the room had plenty of space, but some basics were missing or awkward. The wardrobe was tiny, and there were no hangers or towels in the bathroom, so it wasn’t clear where to put clothes. Water also sits on the flat sink counter, and there’s no bidet in the toilet.

We got to Baiyun Int Aiport at 4am and went straight to the hotel. They amazingly let us check in at 7am. The receptionist’s English wasn’t great, but Google Translate worked well enough for us to communicate. Our room was clean, and the front desk service was amazing. Lingnan Tiandi and Nova mall are both within walking distance, which was the best part for us.

The hotel’s location worked especially well, with malls and shopping streets close enough to walk to. For the room rate, I’d say it’s a good choice for a business trip. My deluxe room was at an acceptable standard, and the staff were willing to help, though their English wasn’t very good. The breakfast buffet was great for a few days, but having the same food every morning sent me looking for other breakfast places nearby. The lobby also had an old, damp smell when I walked in.

The location is convenient for walking around the nearby city area. The room was recently renovated, so it looked nice and clean.
