Holiday Inn Express Foshan Chancheng by IHG

There’s a big shopping centre right next door, and the metro is easy to access. The room was nicely equipped, with a seating area, a large walk-in shower, a kettle, and a few supplies. The hotel is part of an apartment block, so it felt a bit odd that reception was on the 34th floor. After that, your key card activates the lift and detects your floor automatically, so there’s no need to press a button. Breakfast was so-so, mostly local food with little Western choice. The coffee was passable, but the juice tasted like diluted squash. The room was cheap, so I can’t complain too much. I’d stay again if I were in the area.

The mall next door made things convenient, with food from affordable places to upscale restaurants, plus a supermarket, barber shop, and clothing stores. The staff also made it easy to get around the language barrier. Most didn’t speak English fluently, but they used translation apps smoothly, which helped a lot. Manager Sheron was especially helpful, with advice on exploring Foshan and a real effort to make sure I was satisfied. She stood out for her fluent English, too. From arrival, the welcome was warm and professional. My stay was exceptional, and I’d choose this hotel again. The location, committed staff, and practical approach to communication all made a difference. Breakfast was satisfactory, but the choices repeated each day. I stayed 15 out of 30 days that month, so more variety would have been appreciated. Rotating dishes or themed days might improve the experience for longer-stay guests. Thanks for considering the feedback, and I hope to enjoy a more varied breakfast on a future visit.

Nice hotel, though there’s no bidet and breakfast has no halal food. Bread and salad are options. The only halal food I could find was lamb skewers, about 10 minutes away.
