The attendants were kind and supportive, though check-in and check-out took a bit too long. I skipped breakfast because I had an early departure. This is a quiet hotel near the university residence buildings. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and modern, with a comfortable king bed and fluffy pillows. UK and Chinese power sockets are available beside the bed. The colors lean dark and earthy. Compared with other Alofts, it felt more like a Fairview to me, with fewer facilities than I noticed elsewhere.

It's decent for what you pay, but the room wasn't cleaned properly. The hotel is a bit far from the city, with not much to do nearby. You'll need to take a cab into town, which can take around 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Being downtown was a plus, and the room itself was nice. But the service was horrible. If you're visiting as a foreigner for anything other than the Canton Fair, I wouldn't bother staying here. The hotel doesn't help you find a taxi through local apps, and drivers may try to scam you. If you need to get somewhere important, give yourself about 30 minutes just to find an honest driver.

The room was clean and looked decent, with some kids' decorations for the package. We booked two nights, but the experience was bad enough that we left in the afternoon instead of staying the second night. While we were showering, the cold water suddenly stopped and only hot water came out. The package was 799 CNY per night for two adults and kids, with a king-size room, buffet breakfast and dinner, and science center tickets. We later found a regular booking for 500 CNY that included breakfast and dinner, so the package deal actually cost us more. The Marriott approval signs in the photos had made us expect better. The lobby had a karaoke booth and a doll crane machine, which felt odd for a hotel. The restaurant barely had any AC, the food wasn't appealing, and the noodle counter said they'd run out of hot water. At the pool, staff stayed on their phones and didn't offer towels. The water was murky and ice cold, and the changing room floor smelled of urine. For business or conferences, if all you need is a clean room and food, it might be an alright choice. For us, it was a horrible stay.

It’s peaceful here, with a nice view and less pollution, but getting to Pazhou or downtown Guangzhou isn’t convenient. The hotel is clean, the service is good, and there’s an indoor pool, though the gym is poor. Breakfast was okay, and the Chinese restaurant was very good and professionally run.
