The staff were attentive, and the hotel felt clean and homey, with a lavender scent throughout. The facilities looked new and classy. Rooms have electric curtains and music systems in the bathrooms, and you can buy the hotel's fragrant lavender toiletries at reception. It's about a two-minute walk from Ximenkou metro station, with lots of street food nearby. The area feels like a typical, authentic Chinese neighborhood, though some people might find the surroundings a little unpleasant. If you use WeChat, booking and paying there is cheaper.

The big sandwich was good value and had a Cantonese feel to it. The wontons are Cantonese-style, not Hong Kong-style, so it's hard to compare the two. If you're after Hong Kong-style food, you'd be better off back in Hong Kong.

The room was reasonably clean, and for the price the place is convenient and fair. It does get a bit noisy since it faces a pedestrian bridge.
