The rooms have a classic design. It's fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep and shower.

I paid 246 yuan per room per night with my friends for a two-night stay in November, when we had returned to China. On the first morning, I woke up itchy, with bites on my hands and back. Then I spotted bedbugs by the bed. It was horrible. I rushed to shower, only to find lines of ants crawling around the bathroom. This was the most terrifying hotel experience I've ever had. I went straight downstairs, showed the front desk photos of the bugs, and demanded a refund. They said they needed the manager's approval. When I asked for the manager to come deal with it, they told me the manager wasn't at the hotel. I couldn't understand why, and it felt like they were avoiding the problem. After speaking with the manager by phone, the staff said they would still charge me and offer only a 20 yuan discount. I told them that hotels in the US would refund the full amount and cover medical expenses for mental distress. The front desk replied, "That's America; you're in Guangzhou now." I was furious. I hadn't imagined China would be this bad. The hygiene was extremely poor and the service subpar, below Chinese standards. Never book a room here.
