Orange Hotel (Guangzhou Railway Station Sanyuanli Metro Station Branch)

I stayed here in 2015 for the lighting fare, which takes place every year. The room was neat and clean, and the location worked well. McDonald's was nearby, so I could go there for a burger and coffee whenever I got hungry. The metro station was within walking distance, making it quick to reach the exhibition site, and the same line could also take me to the airport.

China Southern Airlines covered my stay at the Vienna Hotel in 2015 while I was travelling to Beihai. I had a long layover before my flight from Guangzhou, and found the room clean, tidy, and comfortable, with a TV, kettle, and separate private shower room. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable too. The staff were courteous and helpful. No one there spoke English at the time, but that didn't get in the way of my stay. I don't know what the room cost since China Southern Airlines paid the bill, but I'd be happy to stay there again even if I had to pay myself. I was too tired after a long flight from the UK to try the food, all I wanted was sleep. I was happy with the stay and would recommend the hotel.

The staff were friendly, but the hotel felt a bit out of the way. As a tourist, I would have preferred to be closer to a metro station or nearer Beijing road or Canton tower. The rooms were clean, though old. Breakfast was traditional Chinese food eaten with chopsticks, with no continental options or forks and knives.

Good value for the money. The hotel is on a main road, with bus stops about a three-minute walk away and a metro station nearby. The rooms were clean and the place was pretty nice. Only a few of the workers could understand or speak English.
