The breakfast is pretty good, better than what other hotels in the area offer. Royal Marina Plaza is very conveniently located near the MTR station for Panyu Square, and there’s a good selection of local restaurants. Aeon mall is just a city block away, with many excellent places to eat on its top floor. The flagship Chinese restaurant is good, though hard to navigate if you don’t speak Chinese. I’d skip the other food options inside the hotel. Rates are reasonable, but during one of Guangzhou’s many trade events they can go up by 150-200%. It’s rated 5 Star, though the service isn’t like that at a western 5 Star hotel and can be unhelpful at times. None of the hotel staff speak more than a few words of English, even though many foreigners apparently stay here as their destination. The hotel rating is 5 Star, but don’t expect the same service quality as a western 5 Star. However, given the other lodging options in the area, this hotel may still be a consideration.

The whole Panyu Square area is beautiful, and the hotel is right in front of the metro station. Breakfast was top-notch, and the location is excellent.
