Hilton Garden Inn Guilin Yangshuo

The location was great and the rooms were nice, but the stay at Hilton Garden Inn Yangshuo was a letdown. We needed to leave for the airport, so we asked to have breakfast early. Even though breakfast was included and everything seemed ready, they refused when we asked just 15 minutes before the official start time. Instead, they offered a takeaway box for an extra fee. That felt unreasonable for a hotel at this level. The evening restaurant was expensive by local standards and the food was poor. Staff spoke very little English and weren't especially helpful, which surprised us for a Hilton.

I loved relaxing with friends on the terrace, looking out at the mountains from the little private garden outside my ground-floor room. The inner courtyard has an infinity pool above a broad lawn, and there were a few horses grazing in the distance. The scenery along the Li River is lovely, and the hotel itself is stylish and new, having opened in 2024. We were in Xingping Town, Yangshuo County, Guilin, about a 10-15 minute walk from Xingping Ancient Town and the famous 20 RMB scenic spot. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was included, with a decent range and satisfactory quality. A really relaxing place to get away.

The room and location were generally good, but our payment issue has overshadowed the stay. At check-in on the first day, the front desk said they had no booking and asked for the full amount, even though we had already paid. We were also told at checkout that we would be refunded for three days. Three months of back-and-forth with the staff later, the money still hasn't been returned. After what they told us, I would be wary of what felt like fraudulent behavior.

Helpful staff, and you can hire e-bikes here at a convenient, affordable price for getting around. This is a very nice, new Hilton in the Yangshou area, close to the attractions and old Xinping city.
