One Gem Hotel

Good service at a great hotel, and it's close to the airport.

I booked One Gem Hotel after missing our train to Sanya because of its high reviews, and the staff ended up saving my day. I dropped my phone inside the taxi as I was getting out, and my husband and I thought it was gone for good. At reception, Yi Ling and Hai Ling suggested we ask the hotel driver for help. Jian Wen offered to take me back to the airport to report it to the police. My Mandarin was limited, but he explained the problem to them. He was confident the phone would turn up and helped calm me down. He stayed with me through two trips back and forth to the hotel. The police found the phone quickly, and I had it back within 2.5 hours of losing it. Without the One Gem Hotel staff acting so promptly and caring so much about helping guests, I might not have recovered it. I'm grateful to them, and to the police for their quick response. Thank you, One Gem, for rescuing my holiday. The people there made my visit to Hainan memorable.

We only needed one night in Haikou during a stopover, and this was an amazingly nice place to stay. It's neat and clean, with lots of space and a very technological feel. The hotel arranged a late check-in after our flight landed late and let us extend checkout. It's a bit far from everything else, but works perfectly when you just need to sleep in Haikou overnight. The beds were super comfortable too. Best hotel experience I've had in Asia so far. Highly recommended!
