The room was spacious and clean, and the gym had nearly every machine and bar you could need. The breakfast spread is great for the price, so get the breakfast deal. Staff were friendly, though English at reception was hit or miss, with some people speaking it fluently. The pool could use a makeover. The big drawback is the location: it’s far from Hangzhou’s center and sights, about a 30-minute cab ride.

The buffet breakfast downstairs was good, and the rooms were comfortable. Staff were attentive, and check-in and checkout were quick and efficient. It’s a large, pleasant hotel, though there are no English-language international TV channels. The airport is about 30 minutes away by taxi.

In autumn they switch off the central air conditioning to save money, and the shower water barely trickles out.

One counter staff member was extremely rude. After seeing our IDs and finding out we were Taiwanese, they became dismissive, showed our documents to other staff, and said, “No wonder you were the last one.” Please improve staff training. Sending an employee like that out is embarrassing. Is this how a five-star hotel treats people who pay to stay there?
