I stayed from April 7 to April 8, 2026. The bedroom was compact without feeling cramped, so I’d give it 9 out of 10. The bathroom gets 8 out of 10: because space is limited, the toilet and shower aren’t in a separate bathroom area, but sit along the passage to the left of the front door. During my Hangzhou vacation I picked Metropolo because it’s near the railway station, as I needed to get back to Shanghai the next morning. There’s direct access from the hotel through the basement, and the walk to the station took more than 10 minutes. It may feel tiring, but it’s less complicated than going into the station from outside. The hotel was quiet compared with the busy station, and I couldn’t hear outside noise from the building in the bedroom, so I slept peacefully.

The location was just okay. It takes about 15 minutes to walk somewhere for food, so for what we paid, I think a better hotel could be found. Housekeeping barely cleaned the room. There was already a pin on the floor when I checked in, and after I went out and came back the next day, it was still there. They only changed the towels and replenished the mineral water.

Google Maps has the location wrong. Search for "Roasted meat claypot rice" to find it. From the railway station exit, head southeast toward Dongning Road, and it’ll be on your right.

Handy location if you’re using Hangzhou East station, and there’s a convenience store next door. The actual spot is southeast of the place marked on Google.

The rooms are modern and well furnished, and the train station is close enough to walk to.
