Beibei's service was impeccable, and she upgraded me to a lake-view room with diamonds. The view was so soothing. The scenery at Thousand Island Lake VOCO is truly breathtaking, and the welcome fruit and desserts were a thoughtful touch. Live singers added to the atmosphere, too. It's only a ten-minute walk from Tianyu Mountain, and a shuttle bus takes you to the hotel entrance. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The hotel puts on lots of events, though parking on the peninsula gets insufficient and quite chaotic when several are happening. Breakfast had a plentiful selection, but the quality could be better. The hotel works with a nearby hot air balloon company, and we tried it. The flight schedule is a bit of a gamble.

The hotel was clean and in a good location, but a shocking incident ruined our stay. After checkout, we realized we'd accidentally left brand new, unworn clothes securely in the room locker. We contacted the staff right away, but they incorrectly said the items had been mistaken for trash and thrown away, even though they were clearly stored and obviously valuable.

The lake view is a real highlight, and the hotel should have a lovely sunset view too, though the clouds kept us from seeing one during our stay. The rooms were clean enough, but smaller than I expected for a resort. I found it odd that the Chinese restaurant was set up in a function room. Service was okay.
