Holiday Inn Express Hefei High Tech by IHG

A nice place.

The room was on the 12th floor, with a view of the buildings and residential areas in the development zone. We found a peaceful waterside park on a walk nearby. The hotel is far from the city center, though there's a large mall and a strip of restaurants close by. I saw noodles, snacks and stewed duck, but no typical Chinese market or food that seemed like local cuisine. My last meal in China was pretty simple. I was traveling from Xiamen to Osaka and had 20 hours to spare over two days, so I stayed here in March 2025. It's in the city center and was the closest hotel to Hefei Xinqiao Airport, though still more than 20 kilometers away. A three-lane highway ran right up to the hotel, and we got there quickly. China's highways these days are amazing. The staff checked me in with a translation app and only asked for my passport. The room was very spacious, with beds big enough for a family of four. It was thoroughly cleaned, and the bathroom was spotless too. There wasn't a bathroom with a shower, but the amenities looked new. The outlets were a little different, but my Japanese power cord worked as long as it was compatible with 240V. I left at 5:30 the next morning for my flight. I'd asked the staff the day before to arrange a taxi, and it arrived without any trouble. I felt safe and secure, and my biggest worries turned out to be unfounded.

Having the sink separate from the shower room was handy. The room itself was clean and spacious.
