Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong

As a Titanium Member, I felt there was no recognition of loyalty. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but a few things were disappointing. There was no complimentary bottled water because of government restrictions, though it was for sale. I ended up buying some at 7/11. At other hotels of the same brand in other countries, including Courtyard in the UK and JP, my member status got me water free. I asked about the free dry cleaning benefit for one item after a T-shirt was stained. The answer was that they don't offer it here, but provide two pieces of ironing instead. I can't see why I'd want that when I can iron in my room. The executive lounge was unstaffed and had a poor selection, basically empty. It didn't feel worth having as a facility. I left a coffee cup there around 9am, and it was still on the table around 2pm. The only rubbish bin was behind the staff work table, where there were several banana skins because there was nowhere else to put them. Funny stuff. For me, this was one of the most disappointing Courtyard Marriotts in Asia.

We stayed six nights and were so glad we picked this hotel. Brian Hung at reception made us feel valued as longer-stay guests and was very helpful with our room choice. It had a marvellous view across to Kowloon and the busy shipping lane. Housekeeping did a great job, and the room was well appointed and maintained. The location made getting around easy. The tram goes all over, the metro is a short walk away, and the airport bus stops right outside. The gym was very well equipped by hotel standards. Breakfast and club access were included; we used the club just once, and the food and drinks were perfectly adequate. Breakfast was a little underwhelming, but we found enough to start the day. We'd definitely come back.

After a long journey from Australia, my family and I were welcomed by a friendly, efficient team, which got our stay off to a lovely start. Special thanks to Holly, who went above and beyond to help us get around Hong Kong.

This is our go-to hotel when we visit Hong Kong. Courtyard is well placed by De Veaux Road in Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island, with buses, trams, and the MTR station nearby. The staff are friendly and especially helpful at Front Of House and the Executive Lounge. Mo Mo's serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
