Empire Causeway Bay

The breakfast, tea, and lounge access were my favorite parts of the stay. Nothing fancy, but they kept me cozy and fed through the typhoon days 😋😋😋. There are also lots of cat shops nearby 😸. I was on the 25th floor, and everything was great. I ended up here in late September 2025 after my flight was cancelled and my return was delayed by four days. Check-in was quick and easy, though there was just one person at reception and the service style was minimalist. Because of the hotel's sustainability policy, toothbrushes and toothpaste aren't provided. You can buy a set for around $20, or get one a bit cheaper at nearby shops. Mentioning that since other guests have asked about it.

The area feels safe and clean, and the hotel is nicely located with a pleasant entrance and lobby. Everything was super clean, and the staff were professional. The design isn't the newest, but the place is well maintained. A great place to stay.

The afternoon tea was a nice extra, with a simple buffet of savory food, desserts, tea, and coffee. It felt more like a light lunch. Reception staff were friendly and helped us order a taxi. The room was small, as is typical for Hong Kong, but it was clean and comfortable. There’s a park, tennis courts, and lots of shops and cafés nearby, and Times Square is about a 15-minute walk. Would recommend.

The room smelled woody and damp, and the facilities felt old. It was so small that opening luggage properly was impossible, and someone sitting on the toilet would block the bathroom door. This doesn't feel like a four-star hotel, especially when even the "Economy" room costs 1000 HKD per night. I checked out at midnight and booked somewhere else, but they still refused my request for a one-day refund. I don't understand the praise, and I don't think it's worth the price.
