Harbour Hella Inn

For 25 euros in central Hong Kong, this worked out fine for me. I messaged the place on WhatsApp when I arrived at midnight, got a quick reply with the instructions, and was able to get in easily. The capsules were clean and felt like a normal hostel bed, maybe even better for the extra privacy. The bathroom was very small and had hair in it, though. What can you expect from a cheap place to sleep? Maybe other people are being picky, or maybe things have improved.

The room was a letdown. It smelled damp, the shower was still wet, and there was some strange white liquid on the floor. We got no response when we contacted the hotel about the condition. Scaffolding blocked the roof view, and we weren’t even allowed to open the door, which felt like false advertising. I’d avoid it. It wasn’t worth the money.

Hong Kong is expensive, so a capsule can be a reasonable way to sleep. The staff were friendly and had no problem when I asked to extend my stay by two nights. The view was good, with the marina visible. Bring your own bath towel because they only provide very small ones.

The bathroom setup is just one toilet and one shower for everyone, and they were reasonably clean. The hotel only has tiny towels, and the washing machine had clothes left in it that nobody cleared away. There are capsule beds in the living room area too. In 4 B, the capsule area was about a third full, so it didn’t feel crowded. I only saw men staying in the capsules, and a woman who cleans the apartment stays there as well. There’s no air conditioning inside the capsule, so you have to leave its door open. I knew from the reviews that the check-in machine was on the 15F, and getting the card was smooth.
