Harbour Plaza Resort City

The room was much more spacious than most Hong Kong hotel rooms, and the price felt reasonable for the area. It’s convenient for transport, with a Light Rail station right outside and only a few stops to the main MTR station. There are shops and restaurants connected to the building, and the staff were pleasant. The room itself was dated and not very clean. We even found a bra left in the closet by a previous guest. The key cards kept failing and had to be replaced, and there weren’t any outlets beside the beds. Unless you need this neighborhood, as I did because my aunt lives nearby, I’d look elsewhere.

There’s a mall downstairs with plenty of food, and nearby convenience stores are handy for late night snacks and drinks. The Light Rail across the road goes to TSW railway station, and buses connect to different parts of HK. Airport buses E37 and A37 are also convenient, with A37 stopping outside and E37 not far away. The room is spacious compared with a lot of newer hotels, and for the price it’s pretty good.

The hotel feels old, and its facilities seem dated with little attention to the small details. My room also had a steady, loud buzz coming from the bathroom at night. I couldn’t sleep through it, so I asked to move in the middle of the night. The replacement room had a similar low humming or blowing sound, like air coming through an old vent, and it was hard to get proper rest. Earlier, plugging in my charger caused sparks, and the outlet stopped working. That was pretty scary.

Getting around was easy with the Tram service to the MRT, and there are local shops with lots of places to eat nearby. The rooms were clean and very good, and the services were good too. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend the hotel.
