A lovely, quiet retreat with peaceful views in a historic building. It feels nothing like being in HK. If you're after somewhere remote and away from the city, this is one of the best choices.

The setting is scenic and the hotel has a nice view. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Tai O bus station, so bring an umbrella for sun or rain. There's a restaurant, though it may sometimes be closed to the public for private events.

Staying here is a nice way to experience local culture and get a glimpse of traditional fishing village life. The Tai O Heritage Hotel has charming colonial-style architecture and decor, and its location in Tai O village comes with stunning views. The staff are friendly and the service is good. A great spot to relax and explore the area.

I didn't stay overnight, but took a quick tour and had lunch at the Tai O Lookout. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, and I really appreciated the service and food made with local ingredients. The Tai O Heritage Hotel sits at the westernmost end of Tai O. It's the former Old Tai O Police Station, now preserved as a heritage and business site. It's not a large place, and you can walk around it in less than half an hour, but the tour was worthwhile for the extra history and stories. I'd certainly return for afternoon tea at the Tai O Lookout.

The restaurant was lovely, both the food and the service, and a package with dinner and breakfast may cost less than ordering them separately. I enjoyed the stay, especially the fact that students work in customer service. The room had less of a view than I expected, though the view from the corridor was fantastic.
