Holiday Inn Express Causeway Bay Hong Kong by IHG

I really enjoyed my stay. The room felt nicely sized for one person in Hong Kong, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s an MTR station nearby, along with large malls and convenience stores, so the location worked well. I’d have liked a bit more variety at breakfast, though I did enjoy the eggs benedict each morning. I’d recommend staying here.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and well kept. Even though the hotel is in a busy area, it was quiet inside and I slept really well. Getting around was easy too, with Times Square just behind the hotel, the subway close by, and lots of restaurants and shops around. The service stood out most. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff were warm, polite, and professional. Thanks especially to the person who helped with our luggage. The hotel arranged a taxi, and a staff member brought our bags downstairs, waited with us, and loaded them into the car. That care made a real difference. I’d happily stay again.

Being right in the city center and near the metro is a real plus. The rooms themselves were okay, but on the second night water came through into the bathroom, so I had to move. The replacement was on a lower floor with a worse view, which was inconvenient. Breakfast was a bigger disappointment. There were only 3-4 choices, plus tea and coffee. The coffee was awful, there was no cappuccino or café latte, and the black coffee came with unpleasant milk. A separate breakfast option would be better. I wouldn’t bother with the hotel breakfast, it felt like a waste of time compared with going out to eat. They gave me a Starbucks card to make up for the room change. I expected it to cover coffee and a pastry, but it only paid for the coffee, which was a bit funny for a global hotel brand. They could put more effort into keeping guests happy. This isn’t an Ibis or a budget hotel.

The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the beds were really comfortable. We got there before the regular check-in time and were allowed in early, thanks to Tiffany for helping us out. Later, when I lost something on the bus, Vivian went out of her way to help us contact the Citybus office and report it. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. Had a great stay at Holiday Inn Causeway Bay, highly recommended.
