Hotel Alexandra

I stayed at this Harbour Plaza Group property again for four nights, 10th - 13th December, '25, after four nights here in May '25. I’d meant to post this review a few weeks earlier. My Clover side-seaview room was on the 33rd floor of the West Wing. It was relatively large by Hong Kong standards, with a restful atmosphere, a decent-sized restroom and shower cubicle, and thorough housekeeping. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. Mr. Alex and Mr. Adrian (Trainee) at Reception and Mr. Raymond, Concierge, were pleasant and efficient. The forecourt feels peaceful amid Hong Kong’s bustle. Victorian-era-inspired interiors in the lobby, reception, and passages are tastefully done, and the natural light makes the place feel uplifting. It’s hard to believe you’re in Hong Kong. The area may feel quieter than Central, Causeway Bay, or Tsim Sha Tsui. An escalator in the East Wing leads to a clean, wide, well-lit footbridge that ends close to Fortress Hill MTR. There’s also a Wellcome supermarket nearby for bottled water and toiletries. Breakfast at Cafe A was disappointing for me because there weren’t enough healthy vegetarian options. I’ll consider staying here on a future visit to Hong Kong.

What gives Hotel Alexandra Hong Kong (Hotel Alexandra) its character is the European palace-inspired décor. It feels elegant and a little grand, which made the stay feel special. I spent four pleasant nights there, and the staff were consistently polite, professional, and helpful. The room was clean, in good condition, and comfortable enough for a short stay, though not particularly large. The hotel is near Fortress Hill in a relatively quiet area, while still being accessible. One unusual detail is that the lobby is in the basement, so you have to drive down to reach it. It takes a little getting used to, but it’s manageable.

The mattress felt too hard to me, and the pillows were too soft. That’s probably subjective, though, since someone else might like them. The desk helped move me to another bedroom, and it was much better. It’s a beautiful, neat hotel in a really convenient spot near the bus stop and train. The staff were nice, and the breakfast buffet was great.

The room was clean when we arrived and can be cleaned every day. I liked being able to open and close the curtains with a switch by the bed, and the view from the room was amazing. There are multiple TV stations, too. It’s a good hotel at an affordable price, connected to an MTR station and decorated with fancy details that are nice to look at. There’s also a gym with decent workout equipment. Overall, a good and recommendable place.
