I booked a March 2026 stay at Icon Inn through Agoda in January 2026, for my 70-year-old parents. After a friend visited the property, I realized the location would be inconvenient for them, especially since one of them will have eye surgery during their 45-night stay. I don’t think the accommodation suits their medical needs and mobility considerations. I explained the situation to the property manager, who said he’d contact Agoda to see what could be done. Agoda later told me that Jack the manager at Icon Inn said the request couldn’t be accommodated because the booking was non-cancellable and non-refundable. I understand the terms and wasn’t asking for a full refund. The reservation was made well ahead, the stay doesn’t start until March 2026, and the property has significant time to potentially rebook the room. Given the circumstances, I respectfully asked them to consider a partial refund, even with cancellation fees. Losing the full $3,000 CAD is extremely difficult. So far, I’m still getting a hard no on any refund. It’s very sad and feels unethical to me, with poor customer service. I don’t recommend them.

We had a very bad experience here. They charged us 100 dollars for losing the room card, but wouldn’t let us pay by card, which seemed very strange. The rooms also looked very different from the pictures in the ads.

Ms. MJ from housekeeping was the one bright spot. She was kind and helpful, and kept checking that we had what we needed. Her hard work made an uncomfortable stay more bearable, and I’m grateful for her service. The accommodation itself was far below what we expected, very basic and uncomfortable, and not somewhere I’d choose for a relaxing vacation. The facilities and comfort need major improvement before I could recommend Icon Inn.

Plus points for letting us check ourselves in past 4 am and leave our luggage after checkout. The owner responded to every inquiry, and ate MJ cleaned the room every day. We had no complaints about the owner. It’s in Block E of Chungking Mansion, so there isn’t a long lift line, just a quick 3-5mins queue and you’re up. 😁😁😁

Icon Inn is on the 16th floor, Block E, of the well-known Chungking Mansion on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. Its location is handy: the airport bus No.21 stop is just a few steps away, and the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is across the road. Nearby you’ll find restaurants, snack shops, convenience stores, supermarkets, money changers, and many other shops. Ms MJ, the innkeeper, is very friendly and helpful. She always does her best to make guests’ stays pleasant. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after checkout, and the WiFi is free and fast. It suits budget travelers who just need an affordable place to bathe and sleep, leaving early to visit Hong Kong’s attractions and returning at night.
