The room was very large by HK standards, the location in the heart of Wan Chai was excellent, and the concierge staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Still, I doubt I'll return. The bathtub was ridiculously narrow, and standing in it to shower felt dangerous. I slipped twice while turning around. The shower curtain was too light and kept blowing inward from the water pressure when fully extended, so I could only partly close it. Water ended up all over the floor, and I kept brushing against the curtain, which was unpleasant. The shower head bracket was poorly designed too. The head slipped off twice, and the first time it sprayed cold water all over me. There was just one wall socket, nowhere near the bed. The two USB ports by the bed didn't have enough power for fast charging. The hotel also smelled odd, with a different unpleasant smell in the corridor, room, and bathroom. I'm not sure why it rates so highly on Google and elsewhere. Compared with hotels in Singapore, London, and San Francisco, this felt more like a 2.5 or 3 star place than a 4 star.

Getting around was easy: the A11 airport bus stops almost right outside, Wan Chai MTR is less than a 5-minute walk away, and there are Circle K and 7-Eleven stores at the corners out front and behind the hotel. Plenty of dining options nearby too. Our twin room wasn't especially spacious, but there was enough room. The shower had very good pressure and steady hot water. Housekeeping made up the room and changed the towels every day, and check-in and checkout were hassle-free.

The room was clean and had what I needed, and check-in was simple. The price and location make this place worth a five from me, even if it isn't the best hotel I've stayed in. The airport bus drops you about 10 meters away, which is a big plus.

The staff, from reception to housekeeping, were friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed staying here. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and they replaced the towels every day. WanChai MTR is nearby, making it easy to get to attractions, with plenty of restaurants around too. I'd definitely return.

The family room was a good size and the location worked well, but there was a persistent cigarette smell. It was supposed to be non-smoking, though previous guests had clearly smoked in it. They should install smoke alarms and warn guests who smoke. We had to keep the air conditioning running full blast just to make the air somewhat breathable.
