Kowloon Harbourfront Hotel

We picked this hotel for my daughter's birthday, hoping for a relaxing family stay and some time at the pool. Finding out it closed at 6:00 PM was disappointing. Later, while we were having a quiet dinner together around 9:30 PM, security came over about a noise complaint, which felt unreasonable. The stay was disappointing overall, and I wouldn't recommend it for families.

We stayed 14 nights as a family of six and had paid in full before arrival. Our reservation wasn't showing on their website, and when I emailed, they said the system was under maintenance. We asked about early check-in and were turned down, even though we saw many other people being given room keys. The rooms smelled, the bathrooms didn't have steady hot water, and one of the two apartments was defective. Neither room's AC worked. We kept asking, and they sent someone to inspect, but were told everything was fine. The beds were hard. After a week they changed one of our rooms. Reception staff seemed confused, and it was hard to get a straight answer. I wouldn't recommend this for a long stay.

I stayed three years ago and still fondly remember the spacious rooms, soft beds, and beautiful view from both the living room and bedroom. The woman who cleaned our room was always really nice. This hotel was exceptionally good, and I'd stay again, 10/10.

I came back to Hong Kong after eight years and tried this hotel group on the trip: Harbour Plaza Metropolitan Shanghai, Kowloon Harbourfront Hotel, and Harbour Grand Kowllon. Kowloon Harbourfront Hotel was the worst of the three. The rooms have their own AC units instead of centralized air conditioning, and the air doesn't circulate. The room, curtains, and bathroom tiles were dirty. The kitchen had no detergent or sponge, which are basic necessities. Breakfast wasn't up to standard either: no fruit or yogurt, just one cold cut choice and two kinds of bread. The hotel needs a complete renovation. The facilities didn't make me feel any hospitality, and it wasn't worth what I paid. After staying at these three hotels, I felt the owner of the group no longer had the energy or enthusiasm to run the hotel business.
