2025.11.12 (Tuesday) We came close to 10pm during a layover. The taxi from HKIA cost about HK$250, so bring cash. It's remote and not easy to reach late at night; the driver had to honk a couple of times before the gate opened. We wouldn't have known our way if we'd used public transport. We didn't get a bridge-facing room, but were upgraded from a Deluxe Twin Room to a huge Grandluxe Room, Room 324, on the reception floor. Getting around: the nearest subway/AirPort Express station is Tsing Yi. Bus NR330 connects for HK$13.80, and you need an octopus card. A travel tip: going from Tsing Yi to Central on the AirPort Express costs HK$25 in the morning from 7am to 10am, except Sunday. At reception, Ms Fok was efficient, though impersonal and dismissive. After a long flight, a little warmth matters, so that cost a star. All the restaurants were closed, and we ended up buying instant cup noodles for HK$45 each. If we'd known, we'd have picked up something better at the airport. The room was dated but clean and maintained. I liked the tiled floor instead of carpet and the comfortable sofa for chatting. There were two king size beds, two comfortable pillows per person, and comfortable cotton sheets. We didn't have time to try the flat-screen TV. There was a clothes rack, not a cupboard, an empty mini fridge, and a kettle. Mineral water wasn't supplied, but there was a dispenser by reception. The Xiaomi 1600W hair dryer was powerful. The WC and bathroom were separate, which I liked. Towels were fluffy and white. Bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, as only a small hand soap was provided. The WC had no bidet. Shower gel and hair shampoo were supplied, with okay water pressure. Breakfast was basic but enough for the price. I hated the plastic plates and cups. After seeing the negative reviews, I found it much better than expected. I rarely book hotels rated under four stars on Google Reviews. I'd stay again and wouldn't rush through a layover next time. The setting is scenic and relaxing, and I wish I hadn't had a flight to catch.
