Parkview Suites

The art is what makes the place work so well. You find pieces from different periods, styles, and continents all through the halls, staircases, and restaurants. There are 18th century Chinese paintings beside a Harry Potter movie prop, and Jade temples next to the Asian restaurant. It’s magnificent, and somehow all of it fits together.

We attended a wedding banquet at the club in this private housing estate. It’s away from the commercial and shopping districts, but the package included a shuttle bus, and taxis weren’t hard to find. The surroundings were calm and fresh, with trees all around, and the club had a broad view of the harbour and the areas below the hill. The food was above average, though one or two dishes had gone cold because the wedding ran late. Service was generally good, the staff were polite, and the washroom was clean. There were plenty of places to take photos and keep some nice memories.

A great place with all the facilities you need, from pools, tennis and a gym to golf and football. There’s nature all around, too. Better than a private club, and a must-stay in HK.

I’ve lived in HK for a long time and recently went to Hong Kong Parkview for a private dinner with Alvaro Palacios, where we tried a few good wines. It was held at Ming Yuen Restaurant. Since it was a private gathering, I didn’t take many photos, but I’m sharing the menu from the special event.
