Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong

We spent seven days here in January and February 2026. The Causeway Bay location is great, with buses, trams, and MTR nearby. Housekeeping and porters were excellent, and although the building is older, it's well looked after. Good hot water pressure, and it's fully non-smoking. The rooms are on the small side but okay for the price. The bed was rock hard, made from two singles pushed together, and the lifts were slow. The refrigerator didn't keep drinks or milk cold enough, there's no laundry, and the room had no heating. Breakfast was very basic by western standards. Reception staff seemed clueless about releasing a deposit that was still held, and didn't even apologize.

It's an older building, but it's very well kept. The staff are polite and always greet guests, and housekeeping is great. It's a short walk to Causeway Bay. Breakfast is average at best, though fair enough for the price. I'd definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for two people with bags. Staff were very professional, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Rosedale Hotel is in a convenient part of Causeway Bay, just a short walk from Shelter Street tram station. The buffet breakfast had a range of options, from toast, pastries, cereal, and salad to noodles and western dishes. Check-in requires a HK$500 credit card deposit, and they don't accept debit cards. Hong Kong has banned disposable hotel toiletries as a sustainability measure. You can buy them here at a reasonable price, and shower gel and shampoo are provided.

For the price, it's hard to complain much since HK is so expensive, but this isn't a four-star hotel. The beds were hard, and the water took ages to heat. Wi-Fi was fast and there was a smart TV. Leaving around checkout, expect to wait: there are more than 25 floors and three elevator banks.
