Shama Central Serviced Apartments

The staff and facilities were very good. One thing, though: avoid booking on the lower floors if pub and bar noise bothers you. It can get a bit much.

The location put us right in Central, among trendy cafes, restaurants, and boutiques as well as wet markets and local eateries. We used Shama Central as a base while relocating to Hong Kong, and the spacious apartment suited a longer stay well. It had a separate living room and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a king-size bed with room for several large suitcases. Routine housekeeping kept it fresh, and everyone we met, including the housekeeping team, was friendly and professional. The building looks a little dated, though the apartment itself was clean and well kept. It's not a traditional hotel, with no formal lobby or entrance staff to help with bags. Finding it on our first day was difficult even with an Uber. It's at the corner of Peel Street and Gage Street, just left of Pizza Project. One of our air conditioning units wasn't working at check-in, but the team quickly moved us to another unit, with little hassle. My husband and I had initially been placed there by his company for a month, then needed extra time to find a permanent home. Gloria, who handled our booking, made extending the stay very easy and was helpful and accommodating. Our room looked onto older buildings, and there was quite a bit of construction nearby, so don't expect a scenic view. The on-site gym is small but has the basics for a quick workout. It's not luxurious, but it was a comfortable, practical place for our transition to life in Hong Kong.

We had a great stay and I'd definitely come back. Shama Central is right in the heart of Hong Kong, close to restaurants, shops, and public transport. The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, and a large bedroom and bathroom, with friendly, helpful staff. A couple of things to know: the street leading up to the hotel is very steep and could be hard for elderly guests. There wasn't drinking water in the room, but bottles can be refilled at the gym.

The location was excellent, with bars, restaurants, a wet market, and 7-11 nearby. Our apartment also had a kitchen and washing machine. The room was big, with a large bathtub and a beautiful view, and the staff were friendly. The front desk was professional too. There are lots of slopes going up and down. If you're taking a taxi, ask to be dropped at the corner of peel street and Gage Street，street corner.
