The Arca

Good value for the price if you don't mind being a little off the beaten track. Rooms are quite new, very clean, and generously sized, and the sea view rooms have a great view. The shower has very good water pressure, and the button controlled blackout blinds do an excellent job blocking light. In-room dining was a bit disappointing for taste and food temperature. Breakfast was fine.

The room was great and smelled nice, and the hotel lobby did too. Housekeeping paid attention to little things: when I was running out of toothpaste, they added extra alongside what I had left. Will come back.

For HK hotel standards, I'd give it 3/5. The design decor and housekeeping get 5/5, staff 3/5, and location 3/5. Breakfast buffet is 2/5, and the bathroom is 2.5 because it needs maintenance. Some employees were more attentive than others. There was no nearby restaurant, unlike other hotels we've stayed at in hk where restaurants are everywhere below or connected to the hotel. After a long day we ordered food delivery and didn't eat at the Arca because breakfast selection was disappointing and the food stale. Bathroom amenities need an upgrade and aren't good for sensitive skin, so bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The room was already ready, but nobody called at check-in to see if we could get in early. The elevators are too small. The bed was too firm, though the pillows were nice and the comforter comfortable. It's a 12 minutes walk from MTR along a narrow industrial road, and I wouldn't bring our kids to the Arca. There are no playgrounds nearby. Marriott is connected to MTR, has a pool in the middle, and Ocean Park right next to it, so I'd bring our kids there next time. This hotel is suitable for people in their 20s-30s with a bay view room. Without the sea view room, I wouldn't stay here, because it just isn't worth it.

The ocean-view room is the one I'd especially recommend for an unforgettable luxury experience. The view was outstanding, and the room itself was spacious, very clean, and well equipped. There was an extra mirror, plenty of hangers, slippers, and other thoughtful amenities. A water server in the corridor provided both hot and cold water. The nearest MTR station is only a five-minute walk away, making the location extremely convenient. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.
