The Mira Hong Kong Hotel

The Mira Hong Kong felt festive during our Christmas season stay, with lovely decorations and a lively, warm lobby. We had a park view, and the room was a reasonable size by Hong Kong standards. The gym was modern and well equipped, though it got a bit busy at peak times. There was also a beautiful pool, but we didn't get to use it. We're Marriott Titanium Elite members, but The Mira is a Marriott partner hotel rather than a fully integrated Marriott property, so elite perks are limited. We didn't get an upgrade or lounge access. The hotel did include complimentary breakfast, which we appreciated. It was a big buffet with a wide variety of fresh, well-stocked Western and Asian options. The location was very convenient, near subway stations, bus routes, Harbour City, street shopping, and countless restaurants, so it was easy to get around and find food. It's a solid choice for a stylish Hong Kong hotel with good amenities and a lively feel, as long as you know the Marriott elite benefits are limited.

The hotel is clean and well kept, from the rooms to the shared spaces, and everything works in a practical, organized way. It isn’t flashy, but the Marriott name gives it a steady, dependable feel if you want a stay without surprises. Getting around for sightseeing or work is easy thanks to the convenient location.

The location was a real plus, especially being able to take the elevator straight down to the Don Quijote in the basement. There are lots of interesting restaurants nearby, so I hardly ate at the hotel. My Platinum benefit covered breakfast, which was just average. I stayed two nights and got the two-bedroom I’d requested ahead of time. The room was clean, though a little dated. The shower pressure was weak, and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut fully because it was out of alignment. Having an adapter in the room was useful. It’s relatively affordable for a Marriott, but I still didn’t think the value for the price was especially good.

The rooms are comfortable, but they clearly need renovation and don’t feel up to a five-star standard anymore. The gym is well equipped, though it gets a little crowded at busy times. The pool is clean, beautiful, and one of the hotel’s best features. Food and service were the strongest parts of my stay. There’s a broad choice at breakfast and across the dining options, and the quality was consistently high. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional from check-in through check-out, which made me feel welcome. With refreshed rooms, The Mira Hong Kong could make better use of its potential.
