Laundry service makes a longer stay convenient. I found the 12th-floor rooms better than those on the 14th, though the elevator waiting area on 14 gets awful in summer. I also wish the outlets were placed more conveniently.

We stayed one night, with checkout at noon, but housekeeping came knocking on every door at 9:30 in the morning, asking in Chinese whether rooms needed cleaning, then opened our door. I can't see how that procedure is acceptable. Having worked at a hotel, I think there should be a simple departure and housekeeping list for people staying over, instead of knocking on every door and opening them. I heard other rooms complain too. There was a large gap under the bathroom door. The room had no convenient phone outlets, just one power strip far away, so we had to unplug the lamps and air filter and move it over for my companion to charge her phone.

Ms Tam Tam at reception was exceptionally friendly and reassuring, a rare gem in hospitality. We were initially skeptical of the budget price, inspirational room design, and eye-catching property photos, but were impressed after checking in. This New World managed government initiative for youth in Hong Kong is amazing. The rooms have had ten years of service and are a bit tired, so they need a major overhaul. Still, with a limited budget, the management team has done a good job keeping them up through daily upkeep and refurbishment, preserving good value for the price by Hong Kong standards. The location is a real advantage, with convenient public transport and easy access to local street food. The housekeeping team is top shelf, dedicated, thorough, and responsive. I'd recommend it to adventurers planning a long stay in HK.

This place seems suited to students and tourists on short stays, and it's away from the tourist areas. The free breakfast is just a cup of coffee, a very small muffin, and a small piece of fruit, so it's too little to meet the nutrient guideline. You have to eat it in your room.
