Club Med Joyview Anji

The resort has some great options for kids and teens. Younger children can spend time at the Mini Club, with its playgrounds and staff-run activities, and day care is available too. Teens have a strong range of sports facilities, including football, basketball, tennis, badminton, and kayaking on the resort's large lake. I also liked the pool at the Joy Bar. As for my first Club Med stay, Club Med Anji was just mediocre. It's part of the Club Med Joyview series, so the experience isn't the same as at a main Club Med branch. The downsides outweighed the good parts for me. Food was one of the biggest drawbacks. Two of the resort's three restaurants were shut because there weren't enough visitors, leaving limited choices. Guests on the cheaper of the two Club Med options have to pay for lunch and dinner, while breakfast is included. The breakfast buffet was free, but the food was very ordinary and bland. Lunch and dinner came as either a buffet or Chinese cuisine. The buffet felt horribly overpriced, especially for families of more than three, while the Chinese menu was more reasonable. Service also fell short of Club Med standards. Staff generally seemed to lack professional training, and although I understand it may be hard to find good workers in that location, the service disappointed me. A waiter wasn't familiar with the menu when we ordered, and people were dusting the floor while we were halfway through dinner. When we booked rooms, the concierge didn't notice that we were a large family. We asked for connecting rooms, which I recommend for bigger families, but ended up in two separate rooms that weren't even next to each other. The rooms were okay apart from some cracks in the walls, though they weren't high quality and didn't meet my expectations. I slept badly because there were lots of bugs, including mosquitoes, which were very irritating at night. Ask for an electric mosquito coil repellent, and don't leave the balcony door open. The resort is quite far from the city centre, so the location wasn't great. It does have stunning mountain and landscape views, one reason Anji is such a nice place to visit. My stay was average, somewhere in the middle. I hope this helps.
