Solo travelers, take note: this hotel wouldn’t let me check in alone, and I still don’t know why. I arrived around 10 PM and was refused a room because I was traveling by myself. With every hotel on the island booked, I had to take the ferry back. If it hadn’t been the last ferry, I would have been stranded on Cape Island. This policy makes no sense to me.

The room cost 750 a night, and it was in awful shape. When we arrived, it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The room was damp, the balcony floor was filthy, and several pieces of equipment were worn out. There was dirt around the room, noise overnight, and far too much rubbish on the beach outside. I’d give it zero stars if I could. I doubt this is a real hotel, it barely counts as a motel, and it’s far too expensive for somewhere this trashy 🤮
The location is pretty good, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The hygiene was poor and the price was bad.
Really dirty.
I want to make sure I haven’t mixed this place up with another holiday rental in Cheung Chau. I don’t want to hurt the businesses that do have a conscience. In July, our group of six adults and three children rented this place for three days and two nights. The photos online make it look far better than it was in real life. Those were three disappointing days and nights, costing $4020 plus a $567 service fee. I wouldn’t rent a place managed by Sister Fang again, even if you paid me. Good luck. The floors were soaking wet when we arrived, as if someone had just rinsed them with water and not mopped them dry. The whole place felt and smelled extremely musty and unclean. The sheets and bedding looked old and dirty and smelled bad. At night, my relatives and I could feel something biting us in the bed. It was so uncomfortable that we wanted to leave the next day. Anyone who doesn’t sleep in long sleeves and trousers might not even want to get into the bed. There wasn’t a single roll of toilet paper in the whole place, not even in the bathroom. The bathroom mirror still had stubble from the previous guest, which showed how little cleaning had been done. After we showered and washed our hair, we realized there was no hairdryer. I called Sister Fang and was able to go to the pier to pick one up from her, but the place really had nothing. The sofa opened into a sofa bed, but we folded it straight back up because it was so dirty it made us feel sick.
