The surroundings were quiet, and I slept really comfortably. The room was clean and had everything I needed for one night. Check-in was straightforward: the instructions were clear, and they suggested contacting the host early. He then sent detailed arrival information. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the Tai O bus station. A good-quality stay if you’re travelling on a budget.

We had a great stay in Tai O, which is amazing. The room was cozy and nice, with WiFi, aircon and a hot shower for the price. The host was helpful on WhatsApp whenever we had a question, and we didn’t need to meet in person. I was here with my friend and my 1 y.o son, and we all had a great time. Highly recommend!

Stayed here in late April. The room was clean and comfortable, and staff replied quickly over WhatsApp. It’s a nice place for an overnight stay if you want to experience Tai O. Just don’t come back too late at night: it can be quite dark around there, you’ll hear plenty of frogs croaking under the drains, and most shops will have closed by then.

The location on the edge of the village made it easy to explore on foot, and the views of the high and low tides were breathtaking. I booked the room with the red walls, which was very cute and comfortable. The atmosphere here is peaceful.

Tai O is a picturesque coastal village in a very cute part of Hong Kong, though it’s a little out of the way. If that’s what you’re after, it’s an excellent place to visit. My girlfriend and I stayed for one night after Dragon Boat Festival and paid 620 HKD for the mountain-view side. The room was quite small, but the bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Staff were lovely about us arriving late, and gave us lots of advice on where to go for Dragon Boat races over WhatsApp.
