The location puts you right in the middle of the fun, at the heart of Kashgar Ancient City. There’s also a huge modern supermarket next door, which I believe stays open 24 hours and had everything I could have wanted. This is a 3-star hotel, but my deluxe room felt 5-star. I chose it to make sure I’d get a window, and the room was incredible, with high-end furniture, fixtures, bedding, towels, and pillows. The bed may have been the best I’ve ever slept in. I needed a refrigerator for my medicine and was disappointed not to find one on arrival. I asked the front desk, though, and they brought one to the room within five minutes. As with about 99% of things in Kashgar, there’s no English spoken at the hotel. The staff did their best to communicate and translate through apps. Breakfast was very Chinese, and a lot of the items weren’t to my taste. They did have plenty of excellent fruits and vegetables. The coffee comes from a packet and has too much sugar, so I made my own in the room. GREAT HOTEL

This used to be the Xinjiang Sultan Hotel, before its name changed. The location is awesome, just steps from Id Kah mosque and the busy parts of the old town. My room was spacious, with a super comfortable bed, though the inner rooms have no windows. Breakfast offered plenty of choices, but the coffee was only instant powder. The front staff were as helpful as they could be.

The location is really good, and the staff were kind, which made it easy to enjoy my stay. My room was clean, and for a reasonable price I got to enjoy a bit of a luxurious feel.
